The de-facto successor to Google Glass, and the biggest confirmed news here. Google's official blog announced "Intelligent eyewear with Gemini is coming this fall": Android XR, frames by Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, co-developed with Samsung. Positioned for all-day wear with Gemini AI at the core. Display/camera/audio configurations will vary by model.

Gen 3: $249+, 51 styles / Luna: Oct 2026 shipping / Hypernova 2 & Artemis: 2027 (leaks)
[Announced] Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 starts at $249 (Adventurer) across 51 styles incl. Aviator and Zena. Luna, the camera-free AI glasses (6 mics, Meta AI), was officially unveiled with October 2026 shipping (est. $299–499). Prior leaks (two frame designs, "Muse" AI) largely held. [In Japan] Gen 3 went on sale Sep 24, 2026 — from ¥78,980, 14 styles, plus the LISA collab "Meta Glasses by LISA" from ¥68,200. [Still leaks] the display-equipped Hypernova 2 (binocular, $800–1,000, sEMG band, reported codename "Meta Celeste") and the true-AR Artemis (consumer Orion) are 2027; heise (2026-02) also lists a Ray-Ban Display 2 and a smartwatch. Luna's Japan release is unannounced.

Late 2027, WWDC 2027 unveil (as of Aug 2026)
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman now expects Apple's lightweight camera + mic + AI glasses (Ray-Ban Meta style) to slip to late 2027 from an earlier 2026 target (MacRumors 2026-08, CNET 2026-06). Full AR glasses remain a separate, later track. Whether the first model carries a display is still fluid.

Rokid Ai Glasses Style: reservations since Sep 2026, ¥64,990 (US $299+)
The guide's pick, Rokid Glasses (full-featured, ¥109,890), now has a lighter display-free sibling in Style, plus an official $259 trade-in program. SDK + APK sideloading for your own PC LLM remains unique among shipping products. Note: Even G2 has also gone official in Japan (JUN GINZA is an authorized prescription-lens partner; electronics retailers carry non-prescription units) — but camera + display + SDK in one pair is still Rokid alone.
